Holiday / Birthday Fun in Harlan County

Last Friday Jentry and I made the long trip to Far Far Away (AKA Orleans) to celebrate her 3rd birthday and America's 235th birthday.  The weekend was absolutely packed with family, friends, fireworks, and fun-filled activities.  Friday night we decorated for the patriotic party.

Saturday morning we had the big birthday bash.  Altogether there were 24 people at Grandma and Papa's house to help celebrate Jentry's birthday.  She had a great time opening presents and eating cake.

Saturday afternoon Nathan was nice enough to take us all for a boat ride.  The boat was full but we made it all the way across the lake to the beach, which Jentry loved.

Saturday night we had an amazing, private fireworks show in the back yard, thanks to Nathan and John. Chad helped Jentry and Isaac light some sparklers.

Sunday papa took us out for another boat ride.  Jentry had a lot of fun helping papa drive the boat.  We even got to go down the slide on Uncle Craig's quantoon.

Monday morning we went to Alma to watch the parade and had lunch in the park.  Jentry was quick to learn that if she waved and looked really cute they would throw her more candy.

By the time we hit the road back to Lincoln, Jentry was fast asleep and slept the entire way home.  Thank goodness her mother, who by the way was driving, did not do the same.

  1. That is a great looking cake and it looks like you had a wonderful b-day party and 4th of July. I'm so impressed that she wasn't a bit scared of the sparklers. What a cutie!
