Guardians of Freedom

My sister and I got to spend an entire day with our dad sharing in his passion for aviation. The three of us got to attend the Guardians of Freedom Airshow in Lincoln on August 26th.

We saw aerial performances by:
U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team in their distinctive blue and yellow F/A-18E Super Hornets.
U.S. Marine Corps C-130J Super Hercules, affectionately known as "Fat Albert"
U.S. Air Force's F-16C Viper Demonstration Team
U.S. Navy' s F-35 C Lightning II Demonstration Team
U.S. Navy's EA-18G Growler demonstration
U.S. Navy Legacy Flight
U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight
U.S Air Force F-5 Fighter Tiger Jet
Doug Roth in his Staudacher
The Horseman Aerobatic Team with their 3 P-51 Mustangs
Other rare classic warbirds including an F-4U Corsair and an F6F Hellcat (my personal favorite)

There were also several static displays to view and tour.

The show was fantastic and drew a two-day crowd of more than 350,000 people.

I am so grateful for all the history, the inspiring inventors, the brilliant engineers, and the courageous piolets who have protected our freedom.

I am also very thankful for my dad and the opportunity to spend a very special day with him!
