Baby's Big Boy Bed

At first I was in denial and then I drug my feet, but I finally had to accept the fact that my baby had outgrown his toddler bed.

We ordered a new full size mattress and dug out the conversion kit we had purchased 5 years ago.

Nathan had to scrounge up some spare boards and cut some support slats but Tucker was more than excited to assist.

This smiley boy could not be more pumped for this milestone moment!

A Flighty Night

October 31st:

I was supposed to be on a flight to Orlando for a work conference.

Instead I was home due to Covid.

So disappointing!

But even so...

I got to be there to capture these shots of my scary Dragon and handsome Maverick taking flight on an unforgettable night of Trick-or-Treating with their dad.

Granny

The past two weeks have been filled with many emotions.

Shock and Relief

Disappointment and Gratitude

Heartbreak and Compassion

Grief and Tranquility

At age 89, my grandmother peacefully transitioned from this life to the next. Our hearts mourn the loss of our family matriarch and yet we celebrate the life she lived, the wisdom she provided, and the cherished memories made.

This is the great paradox of life, the tension we must learn to hold.

Death and Eternal Life

Autumn
The bright summer days have gone,
And frosty autumn has come on.
The birds have long since flown away
Taking their colors so bright and gay.

The leaves of brown, red, yellow and gold
Fall to the ground from the frosty cold,
The clouds come rolling across the plain
Bringing the cold wind and the rain.

Goodbye * October 20
It was a long while ago that the words God be with you disappeared into the word goodbye, but every now and again some trace of them still glimmers through.
