Rockin' Heart Tarts

This Valentine's Day I got the pleasure of making heart tarts with my baby cake.

I learned that baking with a 6-year-old boy is quite different than baking with a little girl.

He was interested in cutting out the hearts but also wanted to roll the extra pie dough into a snake and then make videos. In the videos, he explained to the "viewers" how he was going to feed the snake and dissect the it to reveal the mouse moving through it's body!

Not exactly lovely thoughts but this boy was into it!

I believe he was also the only Kindergartener that figured out how to spell such a lovely word on his Valentine bag at school.

Gotta love this boy of mine!

Roatan

Our dear and adventurous friends, Barry and Laurie Sheridan, invited us to come visit them at their winter home on the island of Roatan, Honduras. We spent five fantastic days relaxing, eating, exploring, visiting, shopping and learning about island life.

Barry had to head back to the states earlier than planned due to the arrival of his granddaughter, however Laurie took great care of us.

Inductee

Jentry was inducted to the National Honors Society on February 8, 2024.

I am so delighted that she, and many of her classmates, were honored for their academic achievements, leadership, character and service. No doubt these young adults will accomplish great things!

Dance Showcase

This girl continues to amaze us with her love of dance. Kirby's Performance Company put on yet another fantastic Showcase and Jentry had tons of fans in the audience.

Bring on competition season!

SAN

Mason surprised us this fall by trying out and and being selected to take part in Sing Around Nebraska.

SAN is a children's choir festival for students in grades 4, 5, and 6. The program is a wonderful choral opportunity to foster their love of singing.  Mrs. Linabery practiced with the Sutton students twice a week to prepare them for the big performance at Hastings High School on February 3rd. Mason sang with 170 other students from across the area.

Nathan and I were traveling home that day, but the grandparents, aunts and uncles got to enjoy the special performance.
