A Few of My Favorite Things - Part 1

The advent season is such an exciting time of the year. So many traditions. So many memories. So much anticipation. These pictures are just a few of my favorite things this December.

And to think we have two more celebrations yet to come.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Sanana

It is strangely quiet around here today. You see, Wednesday I sent Nathan to Oklahoma.  A large group of guys from the area make an annual trip to Blackwell to go crane hunting. I haven't a doubt that a great time is being had by all and there will be no shortage of stories to be told when they return.

Yesterday, I sent Jentry off to Harlan County with my dad and my "little" cousin, James Bose, as the pilot. I never thought this day would come, however I had complete faith in the pilots on board. I am very proud that my family's passion for aviation is continuing into the next generation.

So this leaves me and my best boy, Mase. He is an excellent Christmas cookie baker, however I must have worn him out. Before the dishes were done, he came to me with his little blue blanket saying, "Night, night."

Now it is just me and this silent house. I think I will take this opportunity to wrap a few packages from Santa...or as Mason would say, "Sanana."

My Heart

Today Nathan and I celebrate our 3rd anniversary. I love my husband for countless reasons, however reason number 4,378 is that he brought me to Sutton. Sutton quickly became home to me and this time of year is a reminder as to why the small, mid-western town has captured my heart.

Last night was Sutton's annual Parade of Lights. It is a night filled with holiday festivities and the local businesses are able to show their customers appreciation for their loyalty and support. Our evening was filled with horse drawn wagon rides, ornament and cookie decorating, hot chocolate and caramel corn, T shirt decorating, a lighted parade, soup and sandwiches, a craft show and a grand finale meet and greet with Mr. & Mrs. Claus.

I often think about how lucky I am to live in this wonderful town. I am not sure where I would be today if Nathan had not brought me to Sutton.  You see, Sutton could not have captured a piece of my heart if this amazing man had not captured the whole thing.
