A Stay at the Hamilton's

No School Friday at SV and Sutton made for a perfect, long-weekend at the Hamilton's.

Mom and I were able to celebrate our February birthdays with an amazing red velvet cake made with love by my mother.

The boys had great fun feeding and watering the kittens.

Mason spent most of the 72 hours playing video games. Reason 465 why we do not have them at home.

Chad took us exploring on White Cat Point.

We also stopped to checkout the old Orleans mill site south of town. It was fun to hear dad share is knowledge and try to image it what it once looked like.

I was thrilled to find an old photograph online!  Not sure of the date but so fascinating.

On the last night Tucker puppy dog faced his way into Aunt Kelly's bed with a movie of his choice on her laptop.

The baby always gets what he wants!

If a Tree Fell In Your Neighborhood...

One blistering cold day in February, Clay County Tree Service's chainsaw buzzed for 4 hours outside my office window.

My neighbor's very large, very old tree fell hard to the ground and the entire neighborhood felt the earth quake.

I can't help but wonder how old the tree must have been?

Did someone plant it in their front yard or did it welcome the new home to the block back in 1920?

All is Quiet, All is Hush

January and February have been slower and overall unseasonably warm. This has allowed for a few trips to Harlan and more time outdoors.

We got to watch Isaac play basketball at Southern Valley and Uncle Chad showed us around his classroom.

Jentry got her usual Saturday morning Coffee, at the Dragonfly in Alma, and drove us around on the backroads.

Nathan took some time to put up more shelving in the cabin garage and the boys and I explored the shoreline.

All is quiet, all is hush.
The ice shifting and shimmering in the sun.
All is resting, all is calm.
Nature rejuvenating for seasons to come.
