February - Things to Remember

February is nearly over and there are a few things I would like to remember about this month in the year of 2017.

Firstly, this is my typical morning view while getting ready each morning. Mason on the bathroom floor with favorite blue blanket and thumb. He has been waking up rather early and instead of laying in the warm bed with daddy like a sensible toddler (if there is such a thing?), he insists on following me to the bathroom until we can go upstairs for "green pancakes, please." I love that he wants to be at my feet but it sure would be nice to have just five minutes to myself in the morning before I have to mom.

However, I am completely aware that I will someday, likely very soon, long for these days. I mean just look at this big boy with his boots, ball cap and "pack pack." Sniff, sniff.

Secondly, Valentine's Day was filled with cards, candy, hugs, kisses, a special lunch with some amazing men....Mason, Nathan and Papa John and of course tons of festive Snaps.

Thirdly, Mack Inc made an executive decision to add on to their crammed office. It has been great fun fun watching the new walls go up. Excitement for all!

Fourthly, some special moments with Papa John. He has so much love for his grand kids. I am telling you, this man would do anything for these kids and "no" is simply not in his vocabulary.

Fifthly, we said goodbye to a very old friend in our backyard. It was a sad day but we really could not have it splitting into the corner of our garage. No worries we will plant a new friend soon.

Sixthly (is that even a word?), we got to enjoy a tiny bit of winter after record breaking high temps the day before. Oh Nebraska February, you fickle soul you.

Jentry celebrated her snow day from school with hot chocolate and straw glasses.

Oh and a few glamour shots.

Lastly, Jentry and I finally made it to a UNL gymnastics meet. We attended the Masters Classic and had a blast. I decided it was much more entertaining than football. For two hours there was non-stop music and action on the floor with with zero commercial breaks!

February, thanks for the moments. I intend to wrap you up tomorrow with my traditional birthday bow. Until next year...

Little Girls and Hearts

One wintry day in January, Jentry decided that she was no longer a little girl with a purple heart room but rather she was a young lady with a gray and yellow chevron room.

It was all very bitter sweet. I mean just yesterday Nathan and I were preparing his bachelor room with precious lavender paint and a heart tree. How could it be that was 5 years ago and Jentry was 3?

Jentry selected a beautiful bedding set online and could not wait to start painting!

We added some half-price artwork from Hobby Lobby for the win!

With two "ice days" home from school, she was so bored she decided to cut out labels for each drawer. I love how she used black paper and white crayon for the oh so vogue chalkboard look.

Even though her room is no longer filled with hearts, she still completely fills mine.
