Warm Snow

February has seemed a bit rough on me this year. Usually it is January that gets the best of me, however this trip around, February has been my beast. It all started on the 1st with a huge slap in the face snow storm that brought six inches of blowing and drifting snow. Only to be followed up by a left hook of six more inches three days later. The cold set in along with no school, no routine, and cabin fever. Just when I thought things would be back to normal, sickness hit our home and has left this mama down and draggin'. My friend posted this quote on Instagram and I could totally relate.

"I'm sorry for the things I said when it was Winter."

So this week my goal is to focus on the positive in what is normally my favorite month of Love and Birthdays.

The snow was really quite beautiful and and a nice change from the nasty, dull brown.

The kids had a great time "experiencing" the cool white stuff.

I even got out of the house and soaked in some rays.  It is amazing what a little sunshine will do for the soul.

Nathan promised Jentry he would take her out to the farm and show her how to build a snow tunnel. They were both stoked to get out there and the weather even gave them an amazingly warm Saturday afternoon. The high was 55 degrees in Sutton and near 70 degrees in Western Nebraska.

As we were driving out of the yard, I noticed that the snowman had already lost his nose. I guess the unusually warm weather can create some inappropriate snowmen. Ha!

On the not so warm days, the kiddos got to spend some quality time playing together. Oh how they both light up the world. I hope they always love each other this much.

Girl Scout cookies sales began this month and who doesn't love that? Jentry has done an amazing job selling them. She started out a bit shy but has definitely been improving her sales skills. Mason has no idea what he is missing out on... maybe next year you can have some too, buddy.

Mom, Dad and the Hamiltons came to visit over Valentine's Day weekend. We celebrated my mom's birthday and attended the Comedy for the Cause event at the Sutton Community Center. It was a super fun night and I am always excited when my family comes to visit.

Jentry has started crafting lately and this is her Valentine's creation for her bedroom door. I just love having a girl.

We have certainly had some very cold, cloudy winter days this month, however we have also had some pretty incredible sunny, warm ones too.

Therefore, I am going to focus on those and think SPRING!

Holding His Own

As of January 29th, Mason is officially ten months old.  And because he is now ten months old, his mom says he has to start holding his own around here.  Holding his own bottle that is...
