Tuck in Boots

Tucker is now 21 months old and saying new words every day. It is amazing to me how much he understands. Right now, hands down, he is the best listener of all three children! He sleeps very well and will usually eat what the rest of us are having.

Some words that we can currently understand are:
Bye bye, ball, cheese, juice, shoes, bluebees (blueberries), up, please, night night, book, boom (broom), hat, inky (stinky), mama, dada, entee (Jentry), papa, ice, ootball (football), bayball (baseball) and no.

It won't be long and he will be speaking in full sentences and applying for college. Those boots are made for walking and talking!

Thank You Las Vegas

Thank you grandparents...
who allowed Nathan and I to enjoy a three nights stay in the fabulous Las Vegas without little people.

Thank you Allegiant...
for the direct flight out of Grand Island where the parking is cheap, security is quick and the bar is open.

Thank you 17 South Booz & Bites...
for the amazing Tahitian Bloody Mary complete with celery, olives, pickles AND crispy bacon to ensure heartburn.

Thank you Tahiti Village Resort & Spa...
for the island inspired retreat less than 3 miles from the strip with free shuttle rides every half hour and beautiful views.

Thank you Las Vegas Strip...
for offering a plethora of Instagram opportunities.

Thank you Zumanity Cirque du Soleil...
for the wild performance and allowing me the opportunity to pay money to feel slightly uncomfortable with my husband and friend.

Thank you Bentley's Bar & Grill...
for being home to the Las Vegans for Nebraska so we could watch the Huskers lose to Colorado in a Lincoln atmosphere all while being on vacation.

Thank you other tropical beach pool guests...
for making me feel pretty darn great in my mom suit and for making me realize some people are completely incapable of shame.

And lastly, thank you dessert heat...
for offering 100 + temperatures for sunning and zero bugs.

Las Vegas you were good to us!

Mason's Me Box

Mason's Kindergarten teacher asked him to create and share a "Me Box" with his class. He was assigned to select items that represented him and the things that were important to him. The intention was to give the students an opportunity to get to know each other better.

Mason's "Me Box" definitely captured the mind of our special 5 year old boy.

Monster trucks, family, books, trains, race cars, tractors, Huskers, Broncos, blue, Ford pickups, emergency vehicles, 3.29.14.

Cleaning Craze

This kid.

He is absolutely obsessed with vacuums and brooms. I am not certain the source of this infatuation but it is no joke. He cannot say the word vacuum but can spot one at twenty paces. "Broom" is becoming clearer and combined with his urgent finger pointing to the cleaning closet, his request is quite clear.

We have had numerous meltdowns in front of not only the cleaning closet at home but also in public locations such as Walmart, gas stations, restaurants, etc. where Tucker was not allowed to use a vacuum or broom in which his little eye did spy.

While strolling the toy isle in Walmart, we hit the jackpot. One, Tucker-sized vacuum complete with lights and a reasonable decibel sound. He insisted on holding it across his car seat the entire way home. He stores it with the big vacuum in the cleaning closet and it is his first and last stop of each day.

I mean really, how could you not love him? Addiction and all.
