Jentry was home for a few days and Grandma took the opportunity to spend time with her at Rock Creek Station. This a historical park and recreation area by Fairbury, Nebraska. The ranch camp was a stage, Pony Express, wagon train and freighter stop on the Oregon-California Trail. It was here that James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok began his notorious career, when he gunned down station owner David McCanles. Fortunately, I got to ride along too!
On our way home, we took the opportunity to stop for a hot minute at the world's largest porch swing in Hebron, Nebraska.
I am very thankful for days like this one!
