Fall Break

This past weekend the kids had Friday and Monday off of school, so I took some vacation and we all enjoyed a little Fall Break.

Friday, the big two got a shopping day in Grand Island. Jentry is always up for some new clothes and Mason desperately needed jeans. Jentry choose Red Lobster for lunch. Our waitress was extremely patient with Mason and his bazillion questions about the live lobsters.

Saturday morning Jentry played a couple volleyball games in Sutton. Her brothers cheered her on and entertained themselves as best they could on the bleachers.

Nathan had gone east to watch the Huskers play so this box entertained Mason while I loaded the car.

Then the kids and I headed West to Harlan County. We had not stayed at Grandma and Papa's house since May. Our time together was much overdue.

Sunday we took in Isaac's football game in Alma and toured the lake.

Jentry had to stop for a pic in her old stomppin' grounds.

Of course, Mason could not be left out and insisted on his on Insta sesh by the O Man in Orleans.

That time your papa gives you his old fireman helmet and makes you pancakes. Does a little-boy childhood get any better?

Time with my family in Orleans always recharges my soul. It isn't easy preparing to be gone, packing up everything we "might" need, sleeping in strange beds or dealing with whining crying children in the car for hours but I have never and will likely never regret my time in Orleans. It is absolutely worth the efforts and I am grateful we live as close as we do.
