Musical Talents

I can not tell you how amazed I am with this girl's ability to learn music. She is constantly signing, play music in her room (too loud by the way), adjusting the station in the car, playing Kidz Bop on the iPad and stealing my phone to listen to Pandora. She knows more lyrics than math facts.

She was so excited to perform in her Spring Concert. This year she got to be one of the sheep and had a few speaking parts. She is somewhat shy in a crowd, however her passion to perform is evident.

Jentry took her first year of piano lessons from Mrs. Linabery. She did wonderfully and hardly ever complained about practicing. I am convinced it is because she truly has a love for music. We got to watch her perform for an audience at her piano recital in April. She was so nervous. Just before leaving the house she asked if she could take a few saltine crackers with her, because her stomach was feeling funny. Oh how vividly I suddenly remembered my first piano recital. Yikes!

She blew us away. Cool as a cucumber. Didn't miss a note. Completely memorized. Be still my heart.

We celebrated with the other pianists and families. Cake for everyone! I could not have been more proud.

Then she quietly came up to me in the crowd and said, "Mom I just threw my retainer away in the trash."

Be. Still. My. Heart.
