The Original Fab Four

Last minute decisions are not my thing, however last minutes vacations could possibly be my new jam.

Mother: "Flight Friday 20th from GRI to Mesa $178, Monday 23rd back $93. Leave kids with dads and come join us!"
Me: "I'm in if Kelly is?!?!"
Kelly: "Are you both serious?!"
Me: "YES!"
Mother: "Why not? There's a fold out couch in the Arizona room. Young moms can sure use a getaway!"

Sometimes mothers can be sooo right!

My sister and I started our vaca out right with lunch and shopping in GI before our evening flight. The new airport is fabulous and they even serve booze behind security now. Whoot whoot!

Mom and dad were there to pick us up and make the short drive to their Valle del Oro retirement resort. This place was a hoot! "Street" after "street" of park models and RVs and the resort amenities were unbelievable. Ballroom, billiards room, pickleball courts, bocce ball, card room, quilting and sewing room, tennis courts, softball, swimming pool and spa, horseshoe pits, fitness center, bingo, country store, computer room, Zumba, post office, wood shop, silversmith, lapidary, and most importantly... afternoon happy hour!

My parents' friends from Alma were kind enough to rent them their 90's park model for two weeks. I am not sure it was made for more than two adults, but hey we made it work for three nights. Nice and cozy.

The first full day there we took mom and dad to experience IKEA. Their stores are truly amazing to see. Mother made the biggest purchase with her cowhide rug that dad says, "She's always wanted".

The weather was less than stellar being 10 degrees cooler than average, however we didn't let it stop us!

Literally chillin' by the pool.

Many of the resort residents walk, bike or drive tricked-out golf carts to get around. Beep beep!

The second day we drove to Usery Mountain Regional Park to hike in the dessert. The scenery was stunning!

By the second afternoon we were daring enough to actually get in the water.

Great shopping, fabulous dining and above all priceless moments with the original fab four members of the Bose clan. Here's to being more spontaneous in 2017!

Mom and Dad, thank you for everything!

*Trip credit goes to two amazing husbands that took care of everything so we could go party with the old folks.
