Another ER Visit

For a third time I sat next to the very same bed in the Henderson ER.  This time beside Tucker. 

It was late evening on July 1st and the boys had talked Nathan into buying and lighting a few fireworks.  They were all set up on driveway when I left to the store and when I returned there were some remnants of fireworks but no one in sight. My mind immediately went to the worst case scenario and I was certain someone had blown off their hand.

To my surprise, the injury was not the direct result of a firework but rather a poorly placed gas meter. Apparently, Tucker was looking up and chasing after a parachute when he ran directly into the neighbor's gas meter.  The meter left a cut to his scrotum that warranted a drive to the ER. 

Tucker was very brave but he did request that Mason come along for moral support and of course Foxy came too. The doc said glue vs. stitches should do the trick and Tucker celebrated with a fist in the air. 

He was sore for a few days and had to stay out of the lake and pool but fortunately no major harm done. He is healing up well.

My baby girl turned 18! 

Eighteen years of growing and learning together. We are similar in some ways and very different in others. Being Jentry's mother has forced me to become more patient, selfless, listen better and has certainly humbled me. God knew I needed her and I'm so grateful I get to be her mom.

Jentry has wanted to be 18 for about a decade now and she is more than capable of taking care of her adult self. I will of course be there for her no matter what but I consider this a huge parenting success.

She will move to Arizona in a few short weeks and I will miss her terribly.  BUT...I am also so excited to see her navigate her next chapter, which I am sure will bring much joy. 

Annual Festivals

From the Midsummer Festival in Holdrege to Dugout Days in Sutton we had back-to-back summer fun in June!

Baseball Season

This season of baseball was a year of learning and growth.  While the team records were not outstanding the boys definitely improved and got some great experience.

Tucker played on the 9U coach pitch team coached by Jarrod Aspegren, Josh Rapp and Eric Ehmen. He played at 1st and 3rd base and did a great job batting.

Mason played on the 13U team coached by Reid Ely and Mark Pollett. He played outfield, 3rd base and catcher. He purchased a "pencil bat" this year and had some really great hits.

The season was fast, furious and fun but I think we are all ready to move on to a slower July.

Mom's at the Lake

Two years ago, four mom's found one mid-week day in June to get away from our combined 17 children. We had so much fun we decided to do it all again this year.

We enjoyed a sunny, warm day in the cove and laughed until we cried. 

These ladies are solid gold and so good for my soul!

Bananas

For Mason's birthday John, Jan and Nathan surprised Mason with tickets to the Savannah Bananas event at Memorial Stadium.  This last Saturday, Papa and Nathan took Mason and Tucker for a evening of non-stop entertainment. The Bananas have created the "The Greatest Show in Sports" and they did not disappoint their fans in Lincoln.

Stonier Year 2

Year 2 of banking school is in the books! 

It was a full week of class, however it went fast and I so enjoyed catching up with my Stonier friends. 

Philly was kind and gifted us some beautiful weather and excellent food.

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend looked a bit different this year. Jentry claimed the cabin with six of her friends, so the boys and I stayed in Orleans. 

We had great fun browsing the antiques at my mom's neighbor's she shed.

We spent a little time at the lake and soaking in the warm sun in the cove.

Sunday afternoon, we took in the views from the Hamilton's back yard and the boys got to do a little shooting too.

Mom made lots of yummy food for us all and we enjoyed the beautiful evening on the deck. Tucker had great fun with his furry friend Oreo.

We met Papa and Grandma at the Sno Shack in Alma before we headed back to Sutton. Anna served us some some tasty treats.

Class of 2026

It seemed as if we talked about graduation for years and then just like that May 9, 2026 came and went like a shooting star.  It was a fabulous day of celebration. Jentry did majority of the planning and preparation to make her vision come to life and I simply tried to stay out of her way. 

So many friends and family came to help Jentry celebrate and I could not be more proud of the young lady she has become. I am confident that she is ready for this next chapter of life and can't wait to see what God has in store for her.
