Go Big or Gourd Home

Last year we failed to make time for pumpkin carving. Our kitchen remodel was in full swing, I was 7 months pregnant and Mason was ill.

Throughout the entire year, the kids have reminded me of this awful neglect of a family holiday tradition.

So this year, I planned ahead and 2018's pumpkin carving party was a great success!

Pumpkins were carefully chosen along with pumpkin cupcakes and pumpkin ice cream from our local Country Pumpkin.

Designs were meticulously selected and carved.

Seeds were roasted and a good time was had by all.

I wonder if this will redeem me for a few years?

0.5K

Saturday we attended Sutton's 1st Annual 0.5K. The um "race" took place at the Fox Hollow driving range. The weather was amazing and with a Halloween theme how could it not be a blast.

Getting a "shot" from Dr. Potts and the Nurses.

Standing His Own

This big guy is 10 months old and learning to stand his own around here.

His mother is not having it but he seems to think it is necessary.

Adult Day

Thanks to my mother, Nathan and I were able to spend 24+ hours without children. It. Was. Fabulous.

This day spent with great friends was exactly what we needed to reenergize. We ate, we drank, we visited, we laughed, we soaked in the fall sunshine on the patio and we cheered on the Huskers to their first win of the season.

Each year we make it a goal to spend an overnight with the Hays' but this year especially we are grateful for the time we have been given with great friends.

5th Grade Adventure

Last week I had the opportunity to travel along with Jentry's 5th Grade class to the Archway in Kearney. I thought it would be a great way to spend quality time with Jentry, however I quickly realized that she is already too cool to sit by her mother on the bus and at lunch. I also learned the terrifying reality of which classmates had boyfriends/girlfriends! Fortunately, Jentry is not yet one of those silly children. Nevertheless, I had a great day and the Archway far exceeded my expectations.

We also toured the Nebraska Firefighter's Museum and Education Center which is next door to the Archway.

I am so grateful for the experience of this day. Lately I have been realizing just how few opportunities you are given to share new things with your children before they are no longer children.
