Grandparent's Day

Papa and Onnie had a wonderful time with Mason at Grandparent's Day.

Mason memorized 3 poems to share with them and even had a speaking part in the program.

We are very thankful for the fabulous grandparents in our lives!

Gus and Lenny

For one night only, we got to make our kids' dream come true!

French Bulldog brothers, Gus and Lenny, were overnight guests on their travels to their new homes in Arizona.

Gus will live with Jentry's Stenger family and Lenny will gain a new brother Nico at my cousin Dani's house.

I admit they were pretty cute and even slept better than I anticipated, however they sure were a lot of work! And the amount of equipment required is more than you realize.

Everyone was sad to say goodbye but it was fun while it lasted.

River Rats

After more than a decade, I was able to fulfill my river rat desire again by kayaking down the Republican. The Hamilton's coordinated the trip, lined up vessels and life jackets and into the water we went.

It took us approximately 3 hours to float from the reservoir spillway to the Naponee bridge. Outside of a couple capsize events, it was the most perfect afternoon. Temps were in the low 80s and not a cloud in the sky.

It's About Time

Many milestones have taken place in these first few days of August.

Nathan received an award at BW Fusion's annual conference in Iowa for smashing through his sales goals this year.

Jentry drove to and throughout the city of Lincoln for the first time. She did great! She shopped for clothes while the boys played at the arcade. Everyone winning!

Traditional back to school donuts breakfast with Mom. Jenrtry had 2-a-days volleyball practice but we were kind enough to save some for her too.

Last day of working from home with children....until May that is.

Mason made is first meal entirely by himself. Tuna Helper for the win.

After 5+ years of childcare with Melisa, we wrote our last check and gave her BIG hugs goodbye.  Bittersweet for sure!

Tucker and Mason are both in the elementary building this year. God bless those teachers.

Jentry is officially in High School! What?!?!

First Day of Preschool - Tucker 4.5 - Mrs. Landenberger, Mrs. K. and Mrs. Softly

First Day of 3rd Grade - Mason 8.5 - Mrs. Johnson

First Day of Freshman Year - Jentry 14

Me: Tucker did you make any new friends?
Tucker: Yeah, Alexa....but she doesn't play music....she has feet and a face and eyes.

This summer was full. Full of many things both rewarding and challenging. All this mama can say about these August milestones is..."It's about time!"
