Celebrating New Life

This past weekend we celebrated Easter at my parents' house. Because Mason's 1st birthday fell on Palm Sunday, it seemed silly to have everyone gather in Sutton a week before we were all planning to be together in Orleans. Therefore, I decided to have his official party at mom and dad's house the Saturday before Easter.  Writing this out makes everything sound complicated, but in reality it was to make things less complicated. Anyway, I was beginning to think it was all going to be too much in one weekend's time. They were both very special occasions and I didn't want to take away the focus of either celebration by combining them. In retrospect, it was the perfect thing to do as they are both significant events that celebrate NEW LIFE!

Some Bunny is One

My baby bunny is celebrating his 1st Birthday today.

What an amazing year it has been. Oh the things you have learned...and the gifts you have given us.

Happy Birthday Buddy Boy! We love you the whole world. May God bless you with many many more.

Golf

A passion for golf is definitely evident in the McKenzie genes. Maybe it is the Scottish heritage. I clearly married into the family, as I have never even had the desire to swing a club. I do enjoy a ride in the cart if the weather conditions are favorable, but that is about the extent of my zeal. Mason, however has no choice. He is destined to learn and love the game.

I just hope he didn't inherit my talent... or lack there of. If he can keep up with his dad, Grandpa John and Grandma Jan he will do well.

Spring Fever

I'll admit I have definitely had a touch of Spring fever this year, however I didn't mean to invite any actual fevers into our home. Unfortunately, 3 out of the 4 members in our family have been ill so far this month. Even though we have been battling sickness we have definitely been enjoying this unusually warm March.

Mason is working on his balance and is thrilled to be experiencing the great outdoors.  Giving every new thing a taste test is a must.

Jentry loves the park and could spend hours playing in the sandpit.

I would highly recommend having and older child so that you no longer have to push the littles on the swings.

Mason even received his first grilling lesson from dad.

Looks like Mason had some advice of his own to give to dad!

Ah Spring, how we welcome you with open arms...but next year you can keep the fever to yourself.
