Come See and Go Tell

Easter in Harlan County

The kids and I took advantage of their 4 day weekend and headed west. We arrived just as the sun was setting on Corp Road 22, our happy place.

Nathan was busy with work but was able to join us on Saturday and Sunday.
Friday morning, we met the Hamilton's for coffee at the the Dragonfly in Alma and then Papa Bose entertained the boys while Jentry and I painted her bedroom at the cabin.

The boys got to check out the new playground at Northshore.  Jentry chose to sit in the car.

Mason learned how to use the binoculars.

On Easter morning, Jentry and I joined the Hamilton's at their church's sunrise service. It was a glorious morning and the lakeside view from the Neils' home was a perfect setting.
When we returned we discovered the Easter Bunny had visited and kids had fun hunting up eggs.

We enjoyed Easter dinner in Orleans with the Bose family and Grandma had us hunting again.

Tuck just needed to hold his dad's hand and then it was lights out. Too much sugar, too much fun!

We also successfully drained, cleaned and refilled our hot tub for the first time. We are definitely rookies, but I feel grateful to have such tasks to learn.

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples. ~ Matthew 28 v. 6-7

Spring Volleyball

Two 7th Grade mothers were generous and brave enough to volunteer their time coaching volleyball to the girls this Spring. They certainly learned a good amount and we hope that the extra experience will be worth all the time and efforts.

Great fun to see them working and learning together as a team!

Candy Hunt

The Sutton Chamber hosted a Candy Hunt in the park last Saturday. It was a beautiful morning with many in attendance and so much candy!

The boys scored nearly a half gallon of sugar!
Nathan says that means we can cancel Halloween this year.

Daily Regimens

Far to often I am guilty of speeding through life from one task to the next all the while thinking about what must be completed next.

Every once and a while I am reminded to slow down, halt the mind and simply soak up the present.

Joy can be found in the simplest of everyday chores.

Even a toddler can recognize the potential delight of a daily skincare regimen.

Winter Paint

The month of February definitely held true to the definition of harsh winter days.

While God painted the landscape with inch after inch of white, Jentry and I painted the bunk room at the cabin a lovely Manchester Tan.

It was our first "girls only" weekend at the lake and we worked hard, played hard!
