Winter Love

Outside the temperatures dropped and snow piled up, inside we continued to create love and happiness.

February 2021:

  • More than two feet of snow covered the ground
  • The high temperature was 10 degrees in a two week span
  • Low reached -35 degrees
  • Several snow days and late starts

My Story

My story has 38 years of moments, choices, joys, sorrows, gifts, disappointments, lessons, wisdom, relationships... and they all matter! Each memory, each day, each year has made me who I am and for that I praise the great I AM.

May He grant me many more days on this blessed earth and continue to unveil the mysteries of life.

Cheers to year 39!

Snow for Days

On January 25th, we received more snow in a day than I can even remember. Nearly a foot of snow fell in 24 hours!

The kids enjoyed not one but two full snow days from school followed by a late start on the third day. Every child's dream come true!

I have made countless trips to the laundry with arms heaping of cold wet snow gear, but it is well worth the efforts for the quite minutes inside.

With the forecast showing highs in the single digits next week, I am afraid the white landscape will remain for a spell.

Lake Life

2020 was up and down, simplified yet challenging, together and lonely, slow then overwhelming.

2020 was also the year that Nathan and I were fortunate enough to realize a lifelong dream of owning lakefront property!

The fact that it is in Harlan County is just sunshine on the waves.

We visited my Uncle Royce's cabin on June 27th and fell in love with North Cove.

July 7th I typed up letters to send to each of the owners of the 20 lots.

On July 10th, I received an email from a Mr. Nick Cusick who had been considering placing his cabin on the market.

We took our first look at Cabin #10 on July 21st and closed on September 18th.

Since then we have been enjoying every minute of making it ours.

Bird watching.

Shoreline walking.

Hot tubbin'

Beach exploring.

Teepee building.

Cousin fun.

Bike trailing.

Family night.

Loft lighting.

Frosty sunrise.

Backroad driving.

Fresh paint.

Tuck getting intimate with nature!

Movies with popcorn under blankets with lots of snuggles.

New color on the front door.

Matching shutters.

Amazing sunsets!

We have many hopes and dreams for this place and still cannot believe that it is ours!

May 2021 be a year filled with boat waves, sun rays and numerous lake days with great friends and loving family.
